The Flower Farmer and the Florist

The last couple of years have been a real learning curve both in terms of the administration of running my own business and continuing to improve and develop my floral style.

The administration and paperwork is my least favourite part but I think for the business to be successful both parts need to be prioritised. I am lucky enough to have a fantastic accountant and a lot of sound advice from my peers.

With regards to the 'flowery' side I continue to learn and grow and develop my style which I hope sets me apart from other florists. To this end, I work closely with my local flower farmer Cherry Townsend. I have been lucky enough to know Cherry from Kilcoan Gardens for a number of years and her passion for plants, flowers and gardening is apparent from the minute she greets you with her open smile and welcoming nature. Her garden is also part of the Antrim Garden Trail and is open to the public from March-September.

Cherry grows a plethora of beautiful flowers and foliage in Islandmagee and I am delighted we can work together to bring my Brides something very individual and unique.

Recently Cherry and I were photographed whilst having one of our regular planning meetings and I have included some of the images below.

How individual and unique to know that your flowers are being specifically grown for your special day in a little corner of County Antrim!
